At least 14 people were injured after miscreants threw a grenade inside a mosque in Peshawar reportedly run by the banned Jamaatud Dawa (JuD). One of the attackers was arrested after getting injured himself.


Cantt SP Kashif Zulfiqar said the Baitul Mukaram mosque in Tehkal Bala area was mostly visited by the Ahle Hadith sect and was operated by the JuD. One of the leading figures of the banned outfit was on a visit to the mosque, he told The Express Tribune.


He said the arrested suspected attacker was injured in ‘friendly fire’.
