Preventing floods: Work underway on flood-control projects

The commissioner said the first priority of the government was to prevent floods

The government has initiated 18 projects costing nearly Rs13 billion to prevent floods in the Dera Khan Ghazi division, Commissioner Muhammad Yasrab said in a meeting on Monday. He said work on mini-dams to collect water from hill torrents in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur districts was underway. The commissioner said the first priority of the government was to prevent floods. He said an operation against the encroachments at the flood channels was important.
