The Art of color
Excellence Crème collaborated with one of the most renowned names in Pakistan’s fashion industry, The House of Kamiar Rokni under the prestigious ‘Ambassador of Fashion Platform’, which aims to introduce all-encompassing beauty and fashion trends. Here we talk to Kamiar Rokni, and L’Oréal Paris Brand Ambassador, Mehreen Syed about The Art of Color campaign

What was your design inspiration for the Art of Color campaign?
My inspiration was different movements in design and art such as art nouveau and deco. We also looked at the pre-Raphaelite movement as inspiration. The concept was to create clothing that looked like paintings coming to life.
If you were to describe your experience of the campaign in three words, what would they be?
Exhilarating, dynamic, and collaborative.
What was the most memorable moment of the campaign shoot?
The whole day was memorable. Seeing the whole thing come together was thrilling but getting my own shots taken was nerve wracking and hence, memorable.
Describe your journey of working for a hair campaign while reflecting its personality in your garments.
It was a pretty painless collaborative journey. The team at L’Oréal is excellent to work with and we were all on the same page. It was great fun as we have excellent synergy. It was a welcome challenge to realise their vision for hair colour through clothing.
How was your experience of working with L’Oréal?
I heart team L’Oréal, they were a pleasure to work with.

What was your most memorable moment about the Art of Color campaign shoot?
The most memorable moment was when everyone at the shoot wanted to listen to some music and none of us had speakers. We rushed to the market to get them but it was a Sunday, by the time I got back it was seconds before my call.
How was the experience of having worked with L’Oréal and Kamiar Rokni?
I’ve been a member of the L’Oréal Paris family now for more than five years, and we truly are a family. Working with L’Oréal Paris is always a pleasure. Kami is an artist and it is always an honour working with someone who is a master at his craft.
What do you feel was different about the Art of Color Campaign compared to others?
The Art of Color campaign truly took an artistic route. We wanted the dresses and the hair to be like exceptional pieces of art; and the end product does reflect our effort.
What shade of hair colour do you find ideal for yourself?
L’Oréal Excellence Crème Golden Brown 5.3 is my absolute favourite.
What are your plans for the future?
I want to dabble into acting next. It’s a craft that I really admire, I want to explore the craft further. And to be honest I think I’m pretty good at it and really enjoy it.
