Cutback: INYT to close Paris editing, pre-print operations

According to the memo editing and pre-print production will now be concentrated in New York and Hong Kong

The New York Times Company is shutting down editing and pre-press print production operations located in Paris, as part of a digital focus of the company which will see these operations consolidated at two global locations.

“The changes are part of a proposal to redesign the international print newspaper and simplify the editing and production process,” the newspaper said citing an internal memo sent to staff at the International New York Times.

While the Paris news bureau and advertising department will not be affected by the proposal, it will see at least 70 jobs either eliminated or relocated.

According to the memo editing and pre-print production will now be concentrated in New York and Hong Kong.
