FAISALABAD: Punjab Local Government Board has circulated an official communiqué among tehsil municipal officers telling them not to “give money to anyone asking for funds to pay for planned visits of high-ups.” PLGB Secretary Mian Mohsin Rasheed had issued the communiqué. He told TMOs to be wary of people posing as representatives of the government collecting money to make arrangements for public meetings and visits of high-ranking officers and political leaders. “This man, Azam, who calls himself a commissioner, has received money from several TMOs across the province to arrange for receptions of high-ranking officials.” Rasheed said, “You must be responsible and not allow charlatans to make a fool of you.” The communiqué has been circulated among 328 TMOs in the province. The TMOs are responsible for making arrangements for public meetings, visits, displaying sign boards, and getting flexes printed ahead of the visits.
