LAHORE:

Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh of Lahore High Court on Monday gave counsel a day to argue the petition filed by former MNA Ali Musa Gilani, son of ex-prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani, seeking removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).

The judge directed the petitioner’s counsel to appear in court on Tuesday (today) to present his arguments. Gilani had said that the ministry had placed his name on the ECL on May 15, 2013, because of allegations against him in the Ephedrine Quota case. He said that the court had declared him innocent. He alleged that the interim government had placed his name on the ECL because he and his father had criticised the interim government after his brother, Ali Haider Gilani, was kidnapped.
