ISLAMABAD: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) organised protests in Shopian, Indian Held Kashmir (IHK), on Friday against the continued illegal detention of its head, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, and the house arrest of All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Gilani. Holding banners, the protesters demanded immediate release of Shabbir Ahmad Shah who was arrested on February 24.  Addressing the protesters, Tanveer Ahmad termed Shabbir Shah’s detention as frustration of the authorities, saying that they have no justification to keep him behind bars. Condemning the continued house arrest of Syed Ali Gilani, the speakers termed it a blot in the face of the so-called democracy of India.
