Crime: Four killed in police encounters

Three robbers died in the crossfire and three had managed to flee, police said

Three people, allegedly robbers, were killed in a police encounter late night on Sunday near Chak 20/2-L. Police said, six robbers had set up a road block near Chak 20/2-L and held up several passers-by. Saddar and City police arrived at the site and the robbers shot at them. Police said that they had shot back in self-defence. Three robbers died in the crossfire and three had managed to flee, police said. In Sargodha, police killed a robbery suspect in a shootout in a Jhal Chakian police precinct on Monday. Police said Ilyas had tried to flee from police custody after a gang of robbers attacked the police near Kot Momin. He was shot in crossfire between the police and his accomplices.
