Free men: Three men granted bails

Police told the court that the men were arrested because they were caught carrying liquor

LAHORE: A judicial magistrate granted bails to three people suspected of carrying liquor on Sunday on payment of Rs30,000 each. Muslim Town police produced the suspects before the court where their counsel said the men were not guilty and had been wrongly implicated. Police told the court that the men were arrested because they were caught carrying liquor. After hearing the arguments, the court accepted bail applications of the suspects. Separately, a judicial magistrate sent five suspects on a two-week judicial remand over their alleged lewd activities. Gulberg police produced three men and two girls before the court. Their counsel said that his clients were not guilty and had been wrongly implicated. Police told the court that they had been caught red handed in a raid. After hearing arguments, the court sent them on a 14-day judicial remand.
