Pursuing excellence: Hum Jawan awards held

PESHAWAR: The Hum Jawan awards were held for the youth of the province who excelled in different fields of life and rendered great services for the country and society. The awards were given at the concluding ceremony of the two-day Hum Jawan youth cultural festival at the PIA Planetarium in Hayatabad on Sunday. The K-P Sports and Youth Affairs department organised the event to promote culture, heritage and history.

Artisans from all the regions of K-P participated at the event and different stalls were established that presented a variety of products, regional foods and cuisines, art performance and music. Fashion show, face painting, kite-flying, children’s street games, weightlifting, magic shows, mehndi sketching, cooking and traditional music programmes were also held.

The event was largely attended by families, women and children who evinced keen interest in the products on display and various other activities. District nazim Muhammad Asim Khan was the chief guest on the occasion.
