MQM claimed that the arrests of workers were of those who had refused to support the new party

KARACHI:

A majority of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers who were recently arrested are those who refused to join the new political party in town, said the MQM in a press statement on Saturday.

Without naming Mustafa Kamal, the other dissidents or their new Pak Sarzameen Party, the MQM claimed that the arrests of workers were of those who had refused to support the new party.

"Some elements are contacting our workers and are telling them that if they do not join this group, then false cases will be registered against them and they will be arrested," claimed the Rabita Committee. The MQM said that the workers were also being threatened of 90-day detention by the law enforcement agencies in case they didn’t join Kamal's party.
