Nabbed: FIRs registered against seven for power theft

Lohari Gate police said they had received a complaint about a shopkeeper selling substandard turmeric powder

Cases have been registered against seven people caught stealing electricity, Multan Electric Power Company SDO Ammar Raza said on Monday. A case has also been registered against a shopkeeper caught selling substandard turmeric.


Raza said that they had informed Alpa police about the people who had been stealing electricity. The police then registered cases against Ashiq Hussain, Talib Hussain, Jafar, Khadim Hussain, Allah Yar, Azhar and Ramazan for stealing power by latching a kunda (illegal connection) with the main line. Lohari Gate police said they had received a complaint about a shopkeeper selling substandard turmeric powder and had registered a case against him.
