Lucrative Trade: Two ‘smugglers’ killed

An official said that the unidentified men were trying to cross the border in the cover of darkness

LAHORE: Pakistan Rangers claimed to have killed two men suspected of being smugglers near Wagha Border early on Saturday. An official said that the unidentified men were trying to cross the border in the cover of darkness. He said they had tried to flee after being directed by rangers personnel to stop. The official said they were then shot. He said the men were attempting to smuggle drugs into India that were seized by rangers personnel following their killing. He said the Rangers personnel had been directed to remain vigilant to prevent such elements from voilating the sanctity of the international border.
