Bigg Boss star Pratyusha Banerjee commits ‘suicide’ over ‘relationship woes’

Police say that a suicide note was not found from 24-year-old actor's apartment

Indian TV actor Pratyusha Banerjee was found dead inside her Mumbai residence in a suspected suicide case, Indian media reported.

Pratyusha, who shot to fame as Anandi in celebrated drama series ‘Balika Vadhu’ and her subsequent appearances in reality TV show Bigg Boss 7 and dance programme ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jha’, was found hanging from a ceiling at her flat in Bangur Nagar in suburban Kandivili, according to The Economic Times.

Police officials claimed no suicide note was found from the flat of the 24-year-old actor, adding the exact cause of death will be known only after an autopsy is conducted.

Though reasons for the apparent suicide are not known yet, the actor was reportedly struggling in her relationship with boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh.

Her last status message on Whatsapp read, "Marke bhi muh na tuzse modana" (even after death won't be turning my face away from you) with a smiley.

Soon after the new of her alleged suicide broke out her co-workers expressed shock and disappointment over the saddening incident. “She is no more with us. It's shocking. I spoke to her two-three months back and she was fine that time. I am at the hospital...trying to get details," Pratyusha's co-star from "Balika Vadhu", Siddharth Shukla, said.

The actor was last seen in TV show ‘Hum Hain Naa’.

Meanwhile, reacting to the news, Bollywood producer Tanuj Garg tweeted, “Terrible, terrible news about Pratyusha Banerjee. Met her once at a party. How extreme must pressures be to drive one to take one's own life.”

BiggBoss co-contestant Kushal Tandon wrote, “The news is absolutely saddening. I know life is tough but why do you need to do this. She was so young, I don't know what happened. Lots of strength to her family during this time.”

Another co-contestant Gauhar tweeted, “Sad sad sad. Nothing's worth ending your one beautiful gift called life for... My heart bleeds for the parents and family... #suicidesnvrthecure.”

Point | 8 years ago | Reply I don't think she did it. Whatsapp message could have been forced upon by her on someone to write it. She was a beautiful girl and a very jolly one. Something else is involved in this!
