Hit and run: Police constable killed in road accident

The truck driver, who was not identified, but whose licence plate was noted, fled the site

A police constable was killed in a road accident in DI Khan on Friday, reported an officer from the town’s Band Kurai police station.


The incident occurred on the major Chashma-Road, close to Kot Jai.


Frontier Reserve Police Constable Muhammad Naheem was riding his motorbike when a truck crushed his vehicle. The police constable died immediately, at the scene of the accident.


The truck driver, who was not identified, but who whose licence plate was noted, fled the site.


An FIR has been registered and investigation has begun, a police official from the Band Kurai police station told The Express Tribune.
On Wednesday, two police officers were gunned down in DI Khan.


Both men had been deployed at a spring carnival in the area and were shot dead by unidentified men. Further investigation is under way.
