Actor Jacqueline Fernandez has lauded the generosity of her contemporaries in the film industry for supporting her campaign, ‘Jacqueline Builds’. According to the actor, whenever there is someone from Bollywood who needs help for films, promotions or even charity, the fraternity always comes forth to lend a hand.

“I love how our industry always stands united. My initiative has received a lot of support from my co-stars, people who have been working with me and who have worked with me in the past. We are always there for each other,” said Jacqueline, reported Indian Express. Jacqueline said she intends to build homes for at least 10,000 families who were affected by the deadly floods in Tamil Nadu last year. The campaign is scheduled to be launched on April 9 and Jacqueline has tied up with the NGO Habitat for Humanity for it.

“This year, I was particularly concerned about the floods in Tamil Nadu. Habitat for Humanity helped me put together ‘Jacqueline Builds’ but what we did not expect was the amount of help we have been receiving from all over India,” she added.  “My sincere thank you to everyone who donated and helped.”

Speaking about her experience of building houses for the underprivileged, Jacqueline shared it has been a surreal journey so far. “I have done a build before and it is an amazing experience,” she shared. “You actually build the home with the person who will later be living in it; you start from bottom to the top. You’re carrying the bricks and putting cement in the scorching heat.”

Much like everyone else would, the actor shared she feels content after putting her blood and sweat into helping the needy. “There is a certain satisfaction that you get at the end of the day and you feel really happy. And, the people you hand over the keys to are so grateful for the support you’ve given them, that it is absolutely priceless,” Jacqueline stated.

Amid all the social work she has being doing, Jacqueline has not pulled away from acting. On the professional front, she has three projects lined up for this year, namely Housefull 3, Dishoom and A Flying Jatt.
