Recent deaths: Police seize 10,000 litres of moonshine

These raids aim to clear the city from the menace of drugs

SUKKUR:


The police arrested 12 suspects and seized 10,000 litres of moonshine during a crackdown against drug peddlers in Site area on Tuesday.


Following the orders of Sukkur SSP Tanveer Hussain Tunio, a contingent of Airport police raided different villages and arrested more than 12 suspects. The police also seized two kilogrammes of hashish from their possession.


These raids aim to clear the city from the menace of drugs, said SSP Tunio while speaking to The Express Tribune.


Sindh IG took notice of deaths due to consumption of moonshine in Tando Muhammad Khan on Monday and launched a crackdown against the menace of drugs, he said. Moonshine is cheap and easily accessible.


It is known to be lethal yet people continue to consume it, he claimed.


Our focus is to root it out from the district. Our raids will continue till the last drug peddler is arrested, he added.
