Eight die after consuming toxic moonshine near Hyderabad

Relatives of the dead block Badin-Hyderabad road; demand arrest of those selling toxic liquor

HYDERABAD: Eight people, including women lost their lives to poisonous moonshine in Tando Mohammad Khan district of Sindh on Monday.

At least four of the deceased breathed their last in civil hospital Hyderabad, where four other unconscious patients from the area were admitted.

Toxic liquor claims four lives in Karachi

The victims were identified as 26-year-old Bharo, 30-year-old Kangi, Shabnum, Mano, Moti Thakur, Papu Thakur, Hero Thakur and Allah Dino Mallah.

While IG Sindh suspended district SHO Qadir Baksh Behrani after the incident, relatives of the dead blocked the Badin-Hyderabad road in protest. They demanded the arrest of those selling toxic liquor, as well as the police officials who fail to put an end to the illegal business.
