Last Rites: Senior journalist laid to rest

A Quran khawani ceremony will be held for the deceased at his residence after Zuhr prayer on Tuesday

LAHORE: Associated Press of Pakistan’s Urdu News Service in-charge Ishtiaq Hussain passed away on Monday. He was laid to rest at a graveyard near his residence in Usman Park Akhri Mint Stop. His funeral prayers was attended by relatives, colleagues and people from different walks of life. Ishiaq Hussain was a member of Lahore Press Club and was recently also elected as the general secretary of the Lahore Economic Journalists Association (LEJA). In separate statements on Monday, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Lahore Press Club president Shahbaz Mian, Secretary Shadab Riaz and Vice President Abdul Majeed Sajid expressed their condolences on his death. A Quran khawani ceremony will be held for the deceased at his residence after Zuhr prayer on Tuesday.
