KOLKATA: In yet another predictable cricket showdown, Pakistan on Saturday lost to traditional rivals India at the World T20 in Kolkata.

Pakistan came to Eden Gardens with the hope of smashing their world cup jinx against India, but the only thing that broke was people’s television sets.

Shocking tactics lead to another chastening defeat

While the Pakistani female squad was victorious over their Indian counterparts, the men in green once again faltered against MS Dhoni’s side.

Virat Kohli helped India pip Pakistan by six wickets at Kolkata’s jam-packed Eden Gardens. Kohli struck an unbeaten 55 as India comfortably chased down Pakistan’s total of 118-5, reaching their target with 13 balls remaining in a match reduced to 18 overs per side because of rain.

Women’s win fails to inspire Men in Green

The cricket-mad neighbours, who have gone to war three times since independence, share one of the world’s fiercest sporting rivalries and their rare showdowns on the pitch can bring both to a standstill.

It was no surprise then that disappointed Pakistani fans let out their anger by smashing their television sets.

From broken hearts to broken TVs, here’s how Twitter reacted to the match:

India repeat history, beat Pakistan in World T20

However, seems like Sania Mirza was the most unhappy person on Twitter

The Indian tennis star who is married to Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik reacted after attracting a series of comments throughout the game.

INDIA has more positives on its side then negatives, and whole world acknowledge it.

If pakistanis wants to replicate the succcess of Indians so they should admire the Indians more and make them their role models!Recommend

Why do people continue to put up hopes and then break things afterwards? When will they accept reality and learn to stop caring about this country? I stopped caring some time ago and now have a peaceful life. Haven’t looked back since.Recommend

@Asad.. 1. Sachin has been role model for most world cricketers. 2. Not few wins but all wc wins. 3. Kohli wasn’t batting alone, It was awesome partnership between kohli, Yuvraj and Dhoni + the amazing fielding and indian bowling attack that helped restrict the opponent well and kept their score low to chase.Recommend

India beating Pakistan in itself is satisfying for us. But Pakistani media gives us so much more. I love watching Pak tv shows before and after the match. All those chest thumping jingoism, predictions, “Pakistan jeetega s” and “Inshallaha s” changing into breaking tvs, conspiracy theories, accusations against PCB and ICC make India’s victory sweeter. Thanks Pakistan.Recommend

We are both Neighbors and let us build good relationship, game is a game, win / defeat is a part of it. Never take it seriously. I am an Indian, feel good that our team won, but does not mean we talk rubbish about other team/s. Pakistan team is good too, some ups and downs, which we went through as well earlier. Recommend
