PESHAWAR:

Awami National Party Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan has said terrorists networks would have been deterred if a proper judicial commission had been established to probe the attacks on Army Public School and Bacha Khan University, Charsadda.

According to a press release issued by the party’s central information secretary on Wednesday, the ANP chief condemned the attack on a bus.

“It is interesting to note how a judicial commission was not being established, for whatever reason,” the statement quoted Asfandyar as saying.

According to the ANP chief, the province appears to have become a “sanctuary for terrorists” under the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led provincial government.

“Members of the provincial government are exploiting the province and have turned a blind eye to the rogue activities of terrorists,” the document stated. “The morale of the police is gradually disintegrating.”

Asfandyar added, “It is imperative to target extremist mentality.”
