Land grabbing case: Family dispute spills in political arena

A lower court judge on ordered the Murree police on Tuesday to submit written replies on a petition seeking registration of a land grabbing case against relatives of Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.


Additional district and sessions judge Abdul Jabbar issued notices to the city police and the SHO to file their responses by March 19.


Raja Khurram Zaman, the complainant, who is also a relative of the provincial minister, told the court that Humayun Mushtaq Sarwar and Ayaz Sarwar had constructed a wall in front of the path leading towards his house in Ghora Gali.


Zaman said that he had earlier complained to both the Murree and the Rawalpindi police but they had taken no action on the complaint.


The complainant told The Express Tribune that the provincial minister and Raja Fiaz Sarwar were politically victimising him for joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
