“Those living abroad are not well-wishers of the nation. They are furthering a foreign agenda,” he said at the inauguration of an FC Public School campus in Panjgur. Though he didn’t name anyone, he was understood to be referring to self-exiled Baloch insurgency leaders. “However, we welcome all those who want to become a part of the mainstream society.”

Maj Gen Afgun said hostile countries were conspiring to sabotage the multibillion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor because they did not want Pakistan to prosper economically. “The enemy doesn’t want Balochistan to develop and prosper and its people to get an education,” he added.
The IGFC said his force was not only restoring peace in Balochistan but was also making efforts to develop the impoverished province. “Education is a fundamental right of each citizen, and the FC wants to see every child of Balochistan in the school,” he said. “For this purpose, the FC is setting up a chain of educational institutions in the province.”

Referring to a low-key insurgency which started in 2006, Maj Gen Afgun said the people of Balochistan had been disturbed by a law and order situation for 10 years.
