MUZAFFARABAD: At least five suspects accused of rape, and poisoning a teenage girl in Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir were arrested on Monday.

"On March 8, five men kidnapped the 18-year-old girl when she was on her way home and took turns to rape her in the fields in Rawani area of the district," SHO Pervez Hameed told The Express Tribune.

The molesters then poisoned the girl but she survived, and shared details of her attackers, leading to their arrests, he added.

The attackers were then produced in court, and given into police custody until March 23, the SHO said.

Earlier on January 19, an 11-year-old girl was abducted and raped when she was on her way home from school in Abbottabad.

Similarly, a 15-year-old girl was raped in Lahore and was found lying unconscious in a room of a hotel situated in Upper Mall in Lahore.
