Actor Naomi Watts shared she is striving to become a better actor and is inspired by the likes of Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren to further her career. Famous for her stints in Birdman and The Impossible, Watts feels there is still a lot of room for her to grow and improve.

“This isn’t the life I imagined. In many ways, it’s far, far better, and yet I look at what’s possible. I mean, I look at Frances McDormand or Helen Mirren or Meryl Streep and then I think to myself, ‘Okay, there’s still a lot of room to grow and improve’,” IANS quoted her as saying. And, while she would love to emulate the aforementioned, she fears being held hostage by paparazzi.

“It’s tough. The whole paparazzi thing is a big downer. I wish they weren’t around so often to capture such awful moments. I probably should care more about the way I look and how I go out. But I can’t. I’m a mom. Some days I’ve got it under control but some days I don’t. Everyone has their good and bad days,” she added.

Separately, she shed light on her 11-year relationship with actor Liev Schreiber. Watts dubbed relationships as a compromise between those involved. “Relationships are hard whether or not you’re famous. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have to work on it. Being an actor doesn’t change anything. You have to figure out how to be present in the midst of it all,” Daily Mail quoted her as saying.
