Curbing corruption: USAID team appreciates NAB’s measures

A high-powered delegation of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), headed by Ann Calvarese Barr called on the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairperson Qamar Zaman Chaudhry at the bureau’s headquarters and discussed matters of mutual interest.


Other members of the office of Inspector General USAID also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, various strategic measures adopted by NAB under the vision and guidelines of Qamar Zaman Chaudhry were highlighted.

The visiting delegation was informed about the measures taken by bureau’s leadership to make NAB a transparent and potent force against the scourge of corruption.

It was informed that NAB’s achievements had considerably added towards rule of law, anti-corruption regime and raising the stature of Pakistan in the international arena as was evident from the latest Transparency International report and rankings.

The USAID officials appreciated the NAB’s functioning and tangible efforts towards eradication of corruption.

The NAB chairperson acknowledged the concerted efforts of the USAID towards social uplift, infrastructure projects and measures adopted to make these projects corruption free to achieve sustainable development.

The meeting ended on a note of thanks and determination to improve further mutual cooperation and collaboration in the field of anti-corruption activities and to make the ongoing projects more accountable, and transparent.
