LAHORE: After months of preparation, some setbacks and a great deal of anticipation, Aasma Butt’s latest movie Fiker Not is set to hit screens across Pakistan on Friday (today).

The film is reportedly a mega budget project that has incorporated production techniques at par with modern movies being produced in the country today.

Wednesday evening in Lahore saw the film’s distributor, IMGC Entertainment, put together the launch event of Fiker Not’s soundtrack where cast members, including Almas Rubab, Sheraz Sikandar, Shahla Rana, Hamad, Ali Badar Mian Daad, Maham Rahman, Dardana Rahman, producer Ammad Butt and director Aasma Butt briefed participants about the script and the movie in general.

Prominent members of the industry such as actor Laila, director Jarar Rizvi, Sheeba Butt, Doli Khan and Dr Ejaz Waris also attended the event to show their support and appreciation for Butt. “There is a shortage of females directors in our industry. Butt is a talented and creative lady,” said Laila. “I know that she was struggling for this film and now it is complete. I request the public to take time out and enjoy it at cinema houses to encourage her,” she added.

The group of musicians who worked on the movie also shared different incidents from the sets with the audience during the screening. Singer Maham Rahman and music director Ali Badar Miandad kept the crowd entertained with a few numbers from the movie, to which the cast performed as well. “It is my first attempt to sing for a film and I am hopeful that people will like my work,” said Rahman. “I was interested in this project as it focuses on issues concerning our youth and I believe people will definitely remember my songs for a long time.”

Butt said she had given Fiker Not her 100% and expects good reviews from Pakistani film enthusiasts. “It was also my agenda to promote fresh talent and I am very pleased that based on their work in Fiker Not, my cast is getting opportunities in other film projects,” she said.
