Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan has revealed that the only condition for her to marry Saif Ali Khan was that he would support her decision to continue to work after marriage, Times of India reported.

Kareena and Arjun challenge gender roles in 'Ki and Ka' trailer

Speaking at a promotional event for her upcoming film Ki and Ka on Women's Day, in which she plays the role of a working woman who has a supportive stay-at-home husband (played by Arjun Kapoor), Kareena said, "Today is Women's Day and you equate women with mother earth, mother Mary... They have the power. They have extra power and so they can multi-task."

"Today I am a wife, tomorrow I will be a mother, but all my life I will work and earn my own money and my husband will support me. That is the only condition [on which] I married Saif!"

The two actors tied the knot in 2012 and Saif has previously shown support for his wife's decisions, even saying that he will have kids only when she's ready.

Ki and Ka: Kareena, Arjun look intense in first look

As far as the upcoming film goes, it's a new concept for Bollywood. One of the promos shows actor Arjun Kapoor wearing a mangalsutra, a sacred necklace worn by married Hindu women.

When asked to comment about this, Kareena said, "This has never been seen before. I thought it's a great idea. He is carrying it so proudly that it looks sexy."

Ki and Ka is directed by R Balki and slated to release on April 1. The film also features Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Jaya Bachchan.
