Shooting incident: PESCO SI dead among six killed

The exchange of fire resulted in the death of six people

PESHAWAR:


At least six people were killed, while one was injured, in an exchange of fire within the jurisdiction of Chamkani police station on Wednesday.


A police official told The Express Tribune Pesco superintendent Riaz was trying to install a meter at his own house in Dalazak Road. He was trying to pass the required wires through other houses when locals resisted.


As the fight escalated, the group started firing at the Pesco official, who was with his two sons Amir Shahzad and Shiraz. Riaz’s son Shiraz, a police commando, retaliated.


The exchange of fire resulted in the death of six people, including Riaz, Shahzad, Khan Afsar, Siffat, Noor Muhammad and Asif.
