Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of the Teachers’ Training Institute for Special Education at PAF Base, Sarwar Road Lahore Cantonment on Tuesday. Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman and Minister for Special Education Asif Manhais were present.

He said that the government had provided funds for the construction of the institute. “It is the responsibility of the government to take steps for the rehabilitation of special children. Instead of spending money on buildings, the government has invested billions of rupees in youth development,” he said.

The PAF Base Lahore commander said that the institute was being set up in collaboration with the Punjab government. “The project will be completed within a year,” he said. He thanked the government for providing Rs160 million for construction of the institute.

The chief minister said on Tuesday that the recovery of Shehbaz Taseer was good news. “The performance of concerned security agencies is commendable in this regard. This is a big success,” he said.
