Ties with germany: More efforts needed to promote trade
German Ambassador Ina Lepel has said that Pakistani businessmen should make more efforts to promote trade with Germany.
Talking to businessmen at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), she said the GSP Plus status for Pakistan was a key driver for promoting trade between Pakistan and Germany, adding Berlin was looking for ways to help the Pakistani business community in this regard.
She cautioned that trade preferences under the GSP Plus should not be taken for granted as Pakistan had to ensure compliance with 27 international conventions including human rights, governance and labour standards. The German embassy is working with the Pakistani business community to strengthen German-Pakistan business institutions.
