Judge visits jail to listen to prisoners

KARACHI: District and Sessions Judge Malir Hasan Feroz visited the district jail in Malir Monday and met prisoners to inquire about their problems.

Feroz assured them of justice and acquired information about ongoing cases at courts around the city. A number of prisoners also presented Feroz with applications for early hearings of their cases while many prisoners submitted applications appealing for a review of the court’s decisions.

Seven prisoners informed Feroz that they were in jail despite serving their sentences as they were unable to pay the fine, after which Saiban International Welfare Organisation chairman Haq Nawaz Akhtar paid for their release.
