Google doodle marks World T20 kick off

The doodle shows players in blue, red and the umpires in white

With ICC World T20 just around the corner, internet giant Google has cashed in on the fever for the biggest cricketing event of the year with a new doodle on its home page.

For many years, Google has used its doodles to celebrate holidays, events, achievements and people. The WorldT20 doodle shows a game of cricket in progress at a stadium with players in blue, red and the umpires in white.

The image is a side view of the stadium which shows spectators cheering their team, with a huge Google logo at the top. A click on the logo directs users to the schedule of the event.

The tournament will feature 16 teams from across the world, and it will be played across seven venues in India.

Five players to watch at World T20

The first match of the tournament will be played on March 8 between Hong Kong and Zimbabwe  at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium,Nagpur, whereas the final of the tournament will be played on April 3 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
