Dissolved department staff: Petition against ‘forced’ postings
The petition cite the prime minister, the cabinet, finance, and establishment secretaries as respondents, among others
ISLAMABAD:
Some 92 former National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC) officials have refused to join the National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) and have filed a petition in a court against their ‘forced’ postings. The NCMC officials filed the petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) after the interior ministry, through a notification on January 15, dissolved the NCMC and transferred its staff to Nacta. According to the petition, the NCMC officials were never given an option to join Nacta or be transferred to the establishment division surplus pool for further posting. It said that the NCMC was an attached department of the interior ministry and its employees were civil servants, whereas the Nacta was an autonomous body, attached with the Prime Minister’s Office and its employees were not being civil servants. The petition cite the prime minister, the cabinet, finance, and establishment secretaries as respondents, among others.
