Shuja khanzada case: Police yet to produce challan

Khanzada and several others had been killed in a suicide blast on August 16, 2015

Police are yet to submit a charge-sheet against a suspect believed to be involved in the attack on slain Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada five months after he was arrested. Counter-terrorism department (CTD) of the Punjab Police had arrested Qasim Muawia, the suspect, and obtained his physical remand from a local court on September 29 last year. The police told the court once again on Monday that the challan had been prepared and was awaiting final approval of the Punjab prosecutor general. Special magistrate Shahid Hameed Chaudhry extended Muawia’s judicial remand till March 8 and directed the police to produce the challan at the next hearing. Khanzada and several others had been killed in a suicide blast on August 16, 2015, at his political office in Shadi Khan, near Attock.
