Alas! After six nominations, the long-deserving actor finally took home the award for Best Actor for The Revenant and we're in raptures!
Leonardo has been in the entertainment industry for the past 25 years and this is his first Oscar. However, it was not only his Oscar win which won fans over, but his acceptance speech about climate change touched countless people.

Hollywood has found a new love as PeeCee takes the West by storm. The actor was a goddess in a white Zuhar Murad ensemble and looked absolutely ravishing on stage next to Leiv to present the Best Film Editing award.
Here are a few of her photos from the red carpet.

4. Lady Gaga's powerful performance
Lady Gaga performed at the Oscars for victims of sexual abuse -- like herself and Kesha -- and her powerful show garnered a standing ovation from the crowd.
Celebrities come out in support of Kesha after court ruling
Kesha took to Twitter to thank Lady Gaga for standing by her side and bringing the topic of sexual abuse center stage. She wrote, "thank u @ladygaga and VP @JoeBiden for bringing attention to sexual assault at the oscars. it hit very close to my heart for obvious reasons."

Lady Gaga sang Till it Happen to You, her and Diane Warren’s Oscar-nominated song for Best Song, which sadly lost to Sam Smith's Writings on the Wall.
5. Chris Rock's opening Oscar monologue
The comedian joked about the Oscars in light of the heated debate and trending topic #OscarsSoWhite. He called the awards the "White People’s Choice Awards".
Chris took a jab at the racist nominations, stating that if there were nominations for Oscar hosts, he would lose to Neil Patrick Harris. He brought to light the issue of decades of racism that blacks have faced in the West and then went on to talk about how racist Hollywood is.
Oscar nominations 2016: Actors of colour ignored
"That’s right. Is Hollywood racist? You’re damn right Hollywood is racist. But it ain’t that racist that you’ve grown accustomed to.
Hollywood is sorority racist.
It’s like, “We like you Rhonda, but you’re not a Kappa.”
That’s how Hollywood is," he said.
6. Leo and Kate's bond
The two have been friends for decades, and they have proven it time and again by showing up to events together and this time was no different, as they arrived at the Oscars 2016 red carpet and looked as cute as ever.
Earlier, Kate had tipped Leo for an Oscar and when he won Best Actor, no one was as proud as his Titanic co-star.
