KARACHI: The Karachi Biennale’s executive council falls under the umbrella of the Karachi Foundation for the Arts. “However, Karachi Biennale is a horizontal platform,” said freelance digital artist and the biennale’s executive council member Atteqa Malik. “There are 13 council members and there is no hierarchy. There are board members in the foundation but they don’t interfere with the working of the biennale.”

The other members are art enthusiast Almas Bana, sculptor Amin Gulgee, Karachi Grammar School continuing professional development department head Ainee Shehzad Salim, State Bank of Pakistan Museum and Art Gallery director Asma Ibrahim, freelance art consultant and curator Bushra Hussain, Karachi Foundation for the Arts co-founder Camilla Hadi Chaudhary, freelance artist Masuma Halai Khwaja, art critic Niilofur Farrukh, VM Art Gallery director and curator Riffat Alvi, art enthusiast Shahbano Lodhi, artist Shakira Masood and independent curator and critic Zarmeene Shah.
