Violation of rules: 30 medical stores sealed

LAHORE: As many as 30 medical stores have been sealed across the city for operating without pharmacists. A few days ago, the Drug Court in the city had ordered that the medical stores running without pharmacists be sealed. The stores that were sealed included two opposite to Jinnah Hospital, two in Lohari Gate area, one near Lahore General Hospital (LGH) and six near Ganga Ram Hospital. Dr Hina and Noor Mehar, office-bearers of the Pakistan Young Pharmacists’ Association (PYPA), have praised the court decision as a step in the right direction. They said they hoped the move would help check the sale of spurious and unregistered medicines. They hoped that the government would implement the court directive in letter and spirit. They said government officials found negligent in this regard should be taken to task.
