The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), taking forward its financial literacy campaign on investment education and awareness, organised a seminar for the students of Foundation University at its campus in Rawalpindi.
Head of Business and Economics Department Dr Amir Gulzar welcomed SECP officials at the campus and appreciated the apex regulatory authority for its proactive role for capacity building of the students.
During the seminar, SECP’s vision for increasing awareness of financial markets with particular emphasis on fraud prevention was communicated to the students.
They were informed about the role of SECP as the apex regulator of non-banking finance sector.
A comprehensive portion of the seminar was about the capital markets, wherein the students were made familiar with the market operations and practices.
Another key feature of the programme focused on educating students about the investor education portal launched by SECP titled `Jamapunji’, its rich contents and multiple features.
