ISLAMABAD: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will stage a protest demonstration in Islamabad on Thursday (today) against a ‘media ban’ on party chief Altaf Hussain. MQM national assembly members and senators headed by Farooq Sattar would hold a ‘peaceful protest’ outside the Parliament House in the afternoon, MQM Spokesperson Aminul Haque said. On Friday, the Lahore High Court would also take up the case of a ‘ban’ on Altaf’s speeches and statements in the media. Haque said that they believed in justice and freedom of expression and hoped that the court will decide in their favour. Earlier, the party observed its four-day token hunger outside the Karachi Press Club against the media ban.
