Seized : Man arrested with opium

The opium valued at Rs1 million had been concealed in a specially stitched jacket

HASSANABDAL: The city police on Wednesday foiled an attempt to smuggle opium and arrested a man on GT Road in Hassanabdal. Muhammad Israr, a resident of Charsadda, who was travelling to Karachi in a public transport, was intercepted in the Adha Larian area and seized 7 kilograms of opium from his possession. The opium valued at Rs1 million had been concealed in a specially stitched jacket. During the preliminary investigation, the suspect revealed that he transported the contraband to Karachi earlier too.
