13-year-old’s body found in Bagh-e-Naran

PESHAWAR:

A boy of roughly 13 years of age was found with his throat slit open at Bagh-e-Naran Park in Hayatabad Wednesday morning.

“He seems 13 or 14 years of age and was wearing a blue shalwar kameez and a black jacket,” an official of the local police station said while talking to The Express Tribune. “It is a huge park, but the body was not found in a deserted area.”

He added the identity of the boy was yet to be revealed. However, the official said the victim had been slaughtered brutally and a police investigation team inspected the site and collected evidence.

The body was found lying inside the park near the boundary wall. Police was informed of its presence from where the body was sent for an autopsy.

Later, Hayatabad ASP Hassan said the knife used in the murder had been recovered from a nullah nearby. “The boy was a resident of Yakatoot and his relatives have been informed, but I cannot share more information at this stage,” he added.

Woman slaughtered

In Timergara, a woman was slaughtered in Sora Ghundi village in the jurisdiction of Samarbagh police station. According to the victim’s uncle Muambar, his niece Saba Gul was married seven months ago to Fazal Razzaq.

Gul had two mothers-in-law and a tussle had taken place between the victim and one of them. The issue did not seem serious at the time and Gul had not mentioned anything to the family.

Muambar received a call from Gul’s in-laws on Tuesday and they said Saba had passed away. They immediately left for the victim’s in-laws’ house where they saw the grisly sight of the teenager’s bloodied body. Gul’s family immediately called for the police.

The police shifted the remains to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Timergara for an autopsy. Doctors concluded Gul had been slaughtered, but refrained from releasing an official report.

Samar Bagh police took both the mothers-in-law, Sultan Taja and Badshahi Taja, and brother-in-law Obaidullah into custody. All three were charged under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code. However, they all denied any role in the slaying.
