Love Lost: Man dies after setting himself alight

FAISALABAD: A 22-year-old man, who had set himself ablaze on Monday night at the mehndi ceremony of a woman he had wanted to marry, died at Allied Hospital on Tuesday. Police said Nisar, a resident of Islampura Mohalla, had fallen for a woman in his neighbourhood. Nisar had asked her parents for her hand in marriage but they had refused. Soon afterwards she was engaged to marry someone else. Nisar forced his way into the woman’s house on Monday, doused himself with petrol and set himself alight. He was taken to Allied Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
