HANGU:

Internally displaced persons in Orakzai Agency have accused the FATA Disaster Management Authority monitor of corruption.

IDPs Pazeer Khan and Ikhtiar Gul told The Express Tribune on Monday the FDMA provided 350 plastic sheets to be distributed amongst IDPs. However, they said, FDMA Monitor Shah Daraz only provided sheets to 250 families.

They alleged Daraz sold the remaining 100 sheets for money. IDPs urged the K-P governor, political agent of Orakzai Agency and others to take stern action against the FDMA official.

However, when The Express Tribune contacted Daraz, he denied the allegations and said he distributed all 350 plastic sheets fairly amongst the IDPs.

Earlier in 2015, a large number of IDPs were repatriated to Orakzai Agency. The repatriation process was carried out under the supervision of the FATA Disaster Management Authority, army and the government.
