SUKKUR:

Two alleged criminals, who, according to the police, were involved in the murder of a head constable one week ago, were killed in an alleged encounter with the police in Bagarji forest, some 20 kilometres from Sukkur late Tuesday night.

According to the police, an encounter took place between the police and the criminals in Bagarji forest. As a result, two suspects, Manzoor Gadani and Shahid Channa, were killed on the spot, while their third accomplice managed to escape, taking advantage of the darkness. Both the deceased criminals were involved in the killing of a head constable, Gul Sher Deho, one week ago near Gadani railway crossing in Sukkur, said the police. The police have recovered arms and ammunition from their possession. Sources claimed that the alleged criminals were first arrested and then taken to the Bagarji forest, where they were killed to showcase an encounter.

However, the sources confirmed that the two, along with their accomplices, were actually involved in the killing of the head constable.

Farhan Sarwar, the media liaison officer to the Sukkur SSP, confirmed the encounter and claimed that the rumours of the fake encounter were baseless.
