Officials of the political administration said joint forces conducted a search operation based on a tip-off. They claimed to have arrested a notorious militant commander from a house which was surrounded during the operation.
The officials said the commander was shifted to an unknown place for further interrogation. Though the name and identity of the arrested man was not disclosed, an official said he was charged with a number of terrorist acts including attacks on NATO tankers and polio vaccinators.
