Crime rate falls in Karachi

Terrorism in Karachi has gone down 80%, robberies 30% and extortion 56% due to the Karachi operation

The ongoing operation against criminals in Karachi has helped bring down targeted killings by 53%. Data showing the National Action Plan (NAP)’s implementation on Saturday revealed that there is a visible improvement in the security situation throughout the country, particularly in Karachi.


The stats also show that terrorism in Karachi has gone down 80%, robberies 30% and extortion 56% due to the crackdown by the Rangers on criminals.

The data said a total of 69,179 criminals, 890 terrorists, 676 proclaimed offenders, 10,426 absconders, 124 kidnappers, 545 extortionists and 1,834 murderers were also apprehended and 16,306 weapons recovered during the operation. Similarly, under NAP, 3,416 Afghan refugees have been deported.
