As many as 34 educational institutions in Bahawalpur have been declared “extremely sensitive” in the wake of security threats, the district police said on Saturday.
They said 17 such institutions were in Cantonment police area, seven in Baghdadul Jadeed, three in Dera Nawab and one each in Yazman, Ahmadpur East, Khairpur Tamewali and Qayampur police areas.
The SHOs concerned have been directed to provide security to these institutes.
The Quaid-i-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur has been placed in A+ category but the police say the institution has yet to make adequate security arrangements.
Police said they had asked the college principal to immediately construct its boundary wall and seal the gates that opened in localities surrounding the campus.
