Penalised: Two jailed for smuggling narcotics

PESHAWAR:


A court for the control of narcotic substances sentenced a smuggler to a year in jail, while another was put behind bars for two years.


Both men were convicted for smuggling narcotics. The sentence was awarded by additional sessions judge Khalid Khan.


According to the prosecution, Mamber, a convict, was arrested on September 6, 2012 and hashish was confiscated from his possession. Separately, 1,050 grammes of hashish were seized from another convict, Sarbiland.


Mamber was sentenced to two years and Sarbiland to a year in prison. A fine worth Rs20,000 was also imposed on the latter.
