Polio Drive: Around 1.36m children to get drops

The CDA’s health directorate has devised a special monitoring mechanism to supervise the campaign

ISLAMABAD: Around 1.36 million children aged five and below will be given polio drops during the upcoming campaign starting from February 15 in Islamabad. For the three-day campaign, the Capital Development Authority’s directorate of health services has formed 427 mobile teams and 83 fixed and 43 transit teams, said a press release issued here on Thursday. Around 1,023 polio workers will take part in the three-day drive. A meeting was also held at the CDA headquarters to review arrangements for the drive. CDA health directorate and Islamabad Capital Territory Administration officials and representatives of the National Polio Eradication Programme attended the meeting. The meeting was informed that urban and rural areas of Islamabad have been divided into 20 zones. The CDA’s health directorate has devised a special monitoring mechanism to supervise the campaign. Around 50 doctors from different hospitals will also join the anti-polio campaign.
